No pictures this time, just some words.
We are just about at the end of 2020, a year I am sure has been challenging for all of us.
For us it has been poor availability of building materials and tradesmen that has slowed the build down. But I am glad to report we have actually ended 2020 in a good stage of the build.
The main part of the house is now just about complete inside, all but sticking on the last few bits of skirting board. Building control have inspected the house and now issued a Certificate of Temporary Habitation, which basically means they approve of the work done so far and are happy that although not complete, the building is safe to occupy.
The remaining jobs to complete the build are the sun room, which is just a boarded up empty shell, fit the glass in the landing window again just boarded up for now, then it’s outside stuff like decking and completing the access ramp and details like that.
The plan in the new year is to submit our VAT reclaim. That plus the savings we have should enable us to order the windows for the sun room and the glass unit for the landing window.
I would hope providing we can source the materials to finally get completion some time in 2021.
