One of the features of our new house is we are fitting MVHR (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) to help make it a low energy house.
This entry show all the duct work and vent terminals so supply fresh air into the living rooms and bedrooms, and extract stale air from the kitchen, utility room and bathrooms. Most of the heat from the extracted air is recovered and put back into the fresh air.
We are using a radial ducted system, so each vent terminal has two runs of flexible duct pipe that run to a plenum box in the plant room next to the mvhr unit itself.
Having posi joists makes it easy to efficiently route the pipes to their destination.
Some of the pipes pass through the loft space
And some pass over the mezanine floor where they will be boxed in around the edge
They all converge in a service riser void. It got a little messy here as I needed to keep all the pipes to the right to allow space for the drain stack still to be fitted in the left…….
That will all be boxed in. But it was also important that they emerge the other side of the wall into the plant room in a sensible order to terminate into the plenum boxes.
EDIT:
A couple more pictures added as I have now connected the big pipes to connect the mvhr unit to the plenum boxes and to the external vents
