After a long pause doing other things (e.g cladding and rendering) I have finally finished the roof tiling, with the garage being the last bit to be tiled.
It was complicated by the fact I had to fit a roof window first. As this is only the plant room above the garage, I chose a budget tripple glazed roof window, an ECO+
It was fairly easy to fit, though the flashing kit was a little complicated.
Then the roof tiling could begin, as always starting at bottom right and working upwards.
There is a lot more work tiling around the roof window, at one point for every 2 whole tiles I was placing, there were then 2 cut tiles to do.
By comparison, the front was a lot easier and very much quicker wiithout any obstructions
And here is the final result with ridge tiles fitted.
After fitting something like 1800 roof tiles, I have precicely 34 tiles left over. I would say the roofing supplier that specified the quantities off the plans got it about right.
